Thanks, dear Robert! "Bondade de seus olhos que poem beleza em tudo que veem!"
"Kindness of your visions that place beauty in everything they see!" It is a very old saying we, (my best friend and I) used to repeat to everyone we met, way back, in high school days. We were considered weird then.
Erica, I feel this deeply. It is hard to know how to find the appropriate balance. The end, though, yes. "Sometimes I wonder, but most times I know I stay in the Eastern Shore because the people here still remind me of what home is."
The Leopold piece brought a tightness to my chest. So often, we think we know best. So often, we know too little. Thank you for sharing all of this.
He had some tricky ideas when it came to population and immigration, but I try to glean the good from his writings and focus on the benefits of those concepts. Staying open is a virtue.
That's beautiful Erica.

Elizabeth, thank you for your heartfelt comments! That writing touches me deeply, still today.
I like Aldo Leopold and his story about the wolves, the mountains and the rivers. For me it is almost always about staying open...

I love that Erica. The arc of the story and its visual poetry takes you on the ride home.
Thanks, Tricia!
damn this is good - and you have really stepped up- yr photography game!!
Thanks, Tom. Glad you liked it! The photography continues to ride at the edges of figure representation and something other, something else...
Great photos and beautiful vintage text from last century!
Ah, Marco, thanks!! Amazing how we all seem to cling to texts from previous centuries, isn't it?
