I appreciate you illuminating the source of the tension I've sometimes felt when it comes to folk art, and the twisted idea that it becomes "collectible"because someone was wise enough to see and bestow value upon it. Well, the term helps with the prejudiced language, certainly. The tension might be between modern/contemporary and the spontaneous art of the people (any people). Not a simple theme. Thanks for your comment.
